How does the BOROUX Legacy System work?
The BOROUX gravity-fed water filter system has one upper chamber and one lower chamber. The filters are installed in the upper chamber. Water is poured into the upper chamber, and then gravity pulls the water down through the BOROUX Foundation Filters and into the lower chamber. Drinking water can then be poured out from a spigot located at the base of the lower chamber.
How do the BOROUX Foundation Filters work?
BOROUX Foundation Filters work by absorbing and trapping contaminant molecules. The carbon attracts and absorbs molecules with a certain chemical charge. They stick to the carbon, like how a magnet attracts metal. The tiny pores of the carbon block are so small that they physically block and trap tiny particles. It's similar to a sieve or strainer.
What is the BOROUX Legacy system made of?

- Chambers and spigot are 304 AISI stainless steel, which is food-grade quality and highly corrosion-resistant.
- Stem Saver and hole plugs are BPA-free food-grade plastic

What does the included Automatic Filter Primer do?
The BOROUX® Automatic Filter Primer comes with every system. It primes your filters in 90 seconds. No faucet, no hand pump, no splashes. You'll use it the first time you set up your system, and again whenever it's time to re-prime your filters.
It charges via USB-C and delivers a minimum of 10 priming cycles per full charge.
When and how to do maintenance?
We recommend cleaning the chambers and spigot monthly. The Foundation Filters should be scrubbed and re-primed every 3–6 months, or when you notice a slower flow rate.
The included Automatic Filter Primer makes re-priming simple. Place the filter on the Primer, press one button, and it's ready to reinstall in 90 seconds.
