BOROUX Releases New Color

Introducing the newest color for BOROUX systems: Sage Green.

The inspiration for our new color is drawn notably from two concepts; Wisdom and Cleansing.

In July of this year, we began the process of adding a new color to our collection. The initial discussion was focused making sure it aligned with our values and served our customers. We gathered a cross-section of employees from a wide-range of departments to bring this new project to life. The intent was to develop a beautiful system makes hydration the centerpiece. After rounds of research, reviewing customer feedback, and color contemplation, we landed on sage green.

"We plan on making more personalized products for your home, for you to love. Trends and interiors change, and we will keep up with beautiful colors to always make sure our customers have the products they want and need," shared Parker Emerson, CEO of BOROUX.

We were inspired by the literal meanings of sage; a wise person, and the evergreen shrub. A knowing person believes in the power of water and the herb is often used to ceremonial cleanse spaces. Clean water is foundational to health. What better way to connect the meaning of a color with the purpose of a product?

According to the International Journal of Wellbeing, exposure to nature has been linked to a host of benefits, including improved attention, lower stress, better mood. Every home deserves to elicit feelings of safety. We liked the connection to safety and water. You should feel safe drinking your water.

biophilia noun
: a hypothetical human tendency to interact or be closely associated with other forms of life in nature : a desire or tendency to commune with nature

As people spend more time in digital spaces, there’s a deep yearning for reconnection with the natural world, a concept known as biophilia. Serving our customers not only clean water but also a product color that evokes the same feeling as the first breath of fresh air on a chilly morning, was something that struck a code with us. Most everyone on the BOROUX team regularly participates in outdoor recreation. We're lucky to live in Colorado and have so many opportunities to partake in the beauty of the natural world. Connecting with nature is powerfully healing. Water is also powerfully healing. Yet another mark for why sage green was the right color to choose.

A muted, earthy shade of green with gray undertones, it conjures a soothing calmness. Perfectly fulfilling style inspired by nature. According to color psychology, sage green encourages reflection and renewal. It's meant to be used for creating relaxing spaces that encourage healing and growth. What a lovely sentiment. We couldn't help but love these meanings and how our product could be incorporated into our customer's homes. A delicate light green, sage is almost a neutral, making it applicable to a wide array of interiors.

The word sage is defined as a profoundly wise person—someone who is venerated for his or her wisdom, judgment, and experience. Health is the real wealth and those that know that are the wise ones. Water quality is often overlooked, but not by those that have clear discernment, those that filter their water. You know you need to filter your water. You should have a system that affirms your intelligence. Sage green is a color that expresses wisdom.

Sage is often to used to ceremonially cleanse spaces. The color, derived from the sage plant, is known for its medicinal properties and dusty green leaves. For millennia, sage has been used in various cultures for health, healing, protection, and wisdom. A play off the cleansing aspect, the BOROUX system cleanses the water. We not only want to elevate your hydration, we want to elevate your well being. Water is foundational to health and when you're drinking truly clean water, your body can function more optimally. A Note from Our In-House Expert

As an interior designer, I always say "color isn't just something we see, it's something we see." It evokes memory, mood, and movement. And when we began thinking about how to visually express the essence of BOROUX--bringing intention, simplicity, and wellness into daily life--we knew the color of our newest unit needed to reflect something deeper. And that's where sage green came in.

Sage is more than a color. It's a connection.

It's the color of soft plant leaves after a rain, of wild herbs clinging to the edges of rocky riverbeds. It's earthy, muted, and grounded an invitation to exhale.

Sage has a slightly gray undertone, which makes it sophisticated and versatile in interiors, yet it still carries the organic liveliness of green: a symbol of renewal, healing and calm. The was important to us. Because BOROUX is about providing accessible water in a form that blends seamlessly into people's homes and lives.

Sage harmonizes with raw stone brushed bronze, soft linens, and natural wood finishes. It doesn't shout. It gently supports. And just like water, it quietly sustains us.

Our choice was also driven by a deep appreciation for biophilic design which is the concept of reconnecting people to nature through spaces and objects.

In a time when many of us spend more hours indoors than ever before, we crave grounding elements: organic textures, soft light, and most importantly, tines inspired by the natural world. Sage green is a core biophilic color. It creates a soothing psychological response, reduces stress, and enhances well-being.

By selecting this hue, BOROUX becomes more than a utility. It becomes a wellness ritual--a design-forward reminder to pause, hydrate, and care for our bodies.

At BOROUX, we believe that form and function aren't separate, they're symbiotic. Our goal was to design a water vessel that feels at home in the most beautifully curated interiors, while remaining accessible, sustainable, and refreshingly simple.
