The newest innovative product from BOROUX is the Automatic Priming Pump!
Priming is now as easy as pressing a button!
Priming used to be a headache. Holding the tan priming tool was cumbersome. Getting the blue priming tool to fit over faucets was challenging. Soaking overnight took too long and often didn't fully prime the filter. Now, priming is quick and easy. BOROUX developed the Automatic Priming Pump to make the priming process simpler and more effective.
What is priming?
Priming the filters means to fully saturate the filters in water before use. This is necessary for the filters to work properly. Both the BOROUX Foundation Filters and Proactive Fluoride Filters are made of activated carbon, which has miniscule pores. Water needs to be forced through all the micropores so that all the carbon is wet.
What happens if I use the filters without priming?
The biggest issue with not priming, or inadequately priming the filters is slow flow. The filters work best when they're wet. When they're dry, water does not pass through the micropores very well. Typically a set of BOROUX Foundation Filters has a flow rate of one gallon per hour. When not primed, that can be much longer, if not nonexistent all together. Priming also helps clear out any manufacturing dust or residue that could occur. The process flushes that out, which remedies the issue of cloudy water.
What does the BOROUX Automatic Priming Pump do?
It simplifies the priming process for BOROUX filters. It automatically pump water through the filter with simply a press of a button. The Priming Pump completely primes a filter in one minute and 30 seconds. This new method of priming is a more consistent way to get a perfect prime every time.
Why did BOROUX make this product?
We've been in the water filter industry for 25+ years and customer feedback has always been a big factor in the direction of our business. We know priming is cumbersome and a pain point. Staying true to our dedication for customer support, we've been working on a solution to make priming easier for years. In fact, our team is the ones who developed and created the blue priming tool, which elevated the priming experience from the tan priming tool. We didn't stop there. We kept researching and testing and ultimately designed the BOROUX Automatic Priming Pump. This will solve many of the problems our customers face when setting up and using their filters.
How does the BOROUX Automatic Priming Pump work?
Insert one filter into the bottom of the Priming Pump. If priming a BOROUX Foundation Filter, remove the wingnut, but keep the washer on, and screw into the Priming Pump. If priming the BOROUX Proactive Filters, attach the blue stem adapter and blue washer, then screw into the pump. Fill the lower chamber of your system with water. Hook the pump on lip or edge of the lower chamber with the filter submerged in the water. Make sure the water level is right at the water level line indicated on the pump. Turn the pump on and then press the priming button on top. A countdown timer will start and will turn off automatically after 90 seconds. Once it's done, unscrew your filter--it's primed!
We hope you love the new BOROUX Automatic Priming Pump and we cannot wait to continue innovating to make your hydration experience even better!
