Maintenance |
We recommend cleaning the shells of the fluoride filter monthly. Since the water running through the Proactive Filter is pre-filtered, there is no need to clean the filters. Reprime the filters if you experience a reduced flow. |

When first using Boroux Fluoride Filters, it's pretty common to experience a slight earthy or mineral taste at first. This usually goes away after you prime the filters for about 5 minutes using the blue filter primer or 2 cycles with the automatic priming pump with hot water (around 100°F). Using the blue priming tool and higher water pressure can also help improve the taste.

The water passes through the BOROUX Foundation Filter. Then water first comes in contact with the granulated carbon in the inner layer of the fluoride filters.
Then, the water filters through the nano-carbon outer layer. The upflow design of the stainless steel shell, makes the water stay in contact with the outer layer for a prolonged period of time, providing superior filtration.
The filtered water exits the top of stainless steel shell through the outlet holes and into the lower chamber.
